The Dreaming Spire of Oxford

Intensivsprachwoche der 6c

We travelled to London on April 9th. There we first made a tour through the Globe Theatre and afterwards watched the play "Romeo and Juliet", which had an interesting modern interpretation. In the evening, our host families welcomed us and we had dinner with them. On Wednesday morning language school started, and in the afternoon, we took a guided tour through Oxford, our final destination. In the following days we explored the city and went to the cinema. Moreover, we made a treasure hunt and went Punting, which was very enjoyable. On Saturday we took an early train ride to London. There we visited the most famous attractions like Big Ben, Tower Bridge and Buckingham Palace. Everyone of us also prepared a presentation of one of the sights. A pretty exciting activity was the London Dungeon, where English history was presented in a frightening role play. “It was scary but worth it,” Julia and Hanna say. In the evening we had dinner at a typical British pub, "The Albert", where we could eat Fish and Chips, for example. It was a great experience! On the next day we drove to Stonehenge and Bath, where we had a traditional afternoon tea with scones in a cafe. On our last day we took an audio guided tour through Christchurch College, where some Harry Potter scenes where filmed and the inspiration for Alice in Wonderland was given. Our favorite activities were the Dungeon (Jonas, Lisa, Stefan, Lana, Jassi), Punting (Luise, Hannah), the treasure hunt (Kathi, Felix), Bath (Julia, Hanna), the pub (Noah) and sightseeing and shopping in London (Laurenz, Emmy, Karo, Nini, Alyssa, Anna).

Overall, it was an amazing trip, we all had a great time and are very thankful for this experience.
