Once upon a Christmas
As every year, that time has come again: Christmas time! And, as they do each year, the English Lovers Christmas show has returned to dominate the stage scene within Vienna's alleys. What might, at first, seem like a child's play quickly turns into something that could only be described as comedy gold. With boundless enthusiasm, the actors play their constantly changing roles in this highly interactive performance.
Not only can the spectators experience the 27 years of expertise that the acting group has accumulated, but they also become part of the play themselves by throwing random words into the mix, upon which the plot is based on. Ever heard the story of the silent Christmas tradition? Or the story about eating only Raclette for 2 years straight? (Note, these were some of the interactions with the audience.)
No? Then the English Lovers Theatre is exactly the right place to visit. As the name suggests, the entire performance is in English. Having witnessed it myself on the 17th of December, 2024 with my class 8C and the parallel class 8A (8B, 7C and the FCE group watched the performance as well, but on a different day), I can confidently say that visiting the English Lovers theatre is absolutely worth it. It is an unforgettable adventure and an experience of a lifetime.
